Get Out of the Boat!
Leave Your Comfort Zone. Step Into God's Purpose.
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
Biblical Foundation: Matthew 14:28-29
Growth rarely happens where we are most comfortable. For many people, the "boat" represents security. It is the familiar job, the comfortable routine, the fear of failure, or the belief that things will never change. While the boat may seem like the safest place to stay, it can also become the very thing that prevents us from experiencing everything God has planned for our lives. As Mike teaches throughout this workshop, your comfort zone can easily become your personal prison and your biggest dream killer.
In this powerful keynote, Mike Weddington challenges participants to examine the fears, doubts, and limiting beliefs that keep them from taking the next step. Using the story of Peter walking on water, along with practical leadership lessons and personal experiences from his own journey, Mike demonstrates that faith is not the absence of fear. Faith is choosing to trust God even when the next step feels uncertain.
Participants discover that fear is a natural emotion. God created us with the ability to recognize danger and uncertainty, but He never intended fear to control our decisions or determine our future. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly tells His people, "Do not fear," not because fear does not exist, but because His presence is greater than anything we face. This workshop helps participants understand how fear operates, why people become stuck in familiar circumstances, and how biblical faith provides the courage to move forward.
Mike also shares practical strategies for turning faith into action. Participants learn how to create a clear vision for their future, develop step-by-step action plans, build healthy habits, and surround themselves with people who encourage growth instead of reinforcing fear. Through biblical teaching, leadership principles, and honest conversation, attendees are challenged to stop waiting for the perfect moment and begin taking intentional steps toward the purpose God has placed before them.
Whether someone is facing a career decision, a family challenge, a ministry opportunity, or a season of uncertainty, this workshop provides practical tools for moving beyond fear and embracing a life of faith, courage, and obedience.
